Coverage and data trust
Understand what Agsemble measures, where provider data applies, how fresh it is, and what it must not be used to infer.
Fields and boundaries
Agsemble accepts GeoJSON Polygon and MultiPolygon boundaries worldwide in [longitude, latitude] order. The server validates topology and calculates area, perimeter, 25-hectare field-slot use, provenance, and durable boundary revisions.
- Maximum 5,000 vertices and 100 MultiPolygon components for saved fields
- Manual, imported, surveyed, driven, operational, and imagery-derived provenance can be recorded
- Every boundary is marked legal_status: not_cadastral
- Agsemble does not establish ownership, tenancy, title, or cadastral truth
Weather
Weather is modeled at the field geometry’s mean coordinate, not sampled across the full polygon and not taken from an on-farm station. Coverage is global where Open-Meteo’s selected models return data; practical model resolution varies by location and model.
- Current temperature, humidity, wind, and day-one rainfall
- Seven-day minimum/maximum temperature, rainfall, precipitation probability, maximum wind, and FAO ET₀
- Sandbox responses cache for up to 24 hours; Founder responses for up to 6 hours
- source.provider, source.mode, source.retrieved_at, license, request_id, Age, and cache status remain explicit
- Open-Meteo free API use is prototype-only for Agsemble until commercial provider terms are confirmed; no production SLA is offered
Earth observation
Earth observation uses Copernicus Sentinel-2 L2A through Sentinel Hub. NDVI is calculated from 10 m red and near-infrared bands over a 30-day lookback. Cloud, water, invalid, and no-data pixels are excluded from the NDVI statistic.
- The response includes mean, minimum, and maximum NDVI plus cloud cover and 10 m source resolution
- captured_at is the aggregation window end; observation_period exposes the complete interval
- Responses cache for up to seven days on Sandbox and Founder plans
- Sentinel-2 has a nominal multi-day revisit, but usable observations can be slower under persistent cloud
- Small or narrow fields can contain mixed 10 m pixels; NDVI is a signal, not a crop-health, pest, disease, yield, or fertilizer diagnosis
Field observations
Scouting notes, pest, disease, irrigation, and harvest observations are startup-owned durable records. Mobile clients should save locally first and retry with the same obs_* ID and Idempotency-Key.
Foreground/manual sync is implemented in the Expo starter. Agsemble does not promise background execution after the operating system terminates the app.
No-signup preview coverage
The public preview is intentionally narrower than the authenticated API: one Polygon in Southeast Asia (92–141°E, 12°S–29°N), at most 25 hectares and 200 vertices. It does not save history or expose provider, date, index, or lookback controls.
